Excel Buttons

This article describes how to create buttons in Excel. Buttons are useful for different kind of tasks, for example: printing out a page or to automate a calculation procedure.

To add buttons in Excel, you will need the developer tab. For windows users:

  1. Click on the tab File;
  2. Click on Options;
  3. Click on Customize ribbon;
  4. Click on Developer.

For Mac users:

  1. In the top bar click on ‘Excel’;
  2. Preferences;
  3. ‘View’;
  4. Last option: enable ‘tab developer’.

You can now go to the developer tab and create buttons.

By right clicking on the button you can change the text, assign macros or change the colour of the text.
